What is First Reconciliation?
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the Sacraments of Healing. Children will participate in confession for the first time with our priests.
What year do children make First Reconciliation?
This is a two year program. Children begin their study in 1st grade and make the sacrament in 2nd grade.
If your child is a 2nd grader or older now and has had no prior religious education, please call Mrs. Strybel at 847.358.2386.

What is First Communion?
The Sacrament of Eucharist is one of the Sacraments of Initiation. Children will receive Holy Communion for the first time with Father Tom.
What year do children make First Communion?
This is a two year program. Children begin their study in 1st grade and make the sacrament in 2nd grade.
If your child is a 2nd grader or older now and has had no prior religious education, please call Mrs. Strybel at 847.358.2386.

What is Confirmation?
The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of Initiation. Candidates will receive the Holy Spirit, strengthening their bond to Christ and the Church. As fully initiated members of the Church, they become public witnesses to Christ and carry on the mission of the Apostles.
What year do children make Confirmation?
This is a two year program. Children begin their study in 7th grade and make the sacrament in 8th grade. Prior to 7th grade enrollment, children should have completed 1st--6th grade religion and have made their First Reconciliation and First Communion.
If your child does not meet these requirements, please call Mrs. Strybel at 847.358.2386 to discuss options for getting your child caught up.
7TH AND 8TH GRADE SERVICE HOURS AND PAPERWORK
As part of the requirements for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, candidates need to complete 12 service hours as 7th graders and 12 hours as an 8th grader for a total of 24 hours.
If you have misplaced your paperwork, you may print them out from our Forms Page. When you have finished filling out the forms, return them to your catechists or to the Religious Education Office by the due dates listed on the forms.
